Tailor made systems:

According to customers requirements we have designed and installed fish holding systems with individual tank holding volumes from 2 to 320 litres each for stock holding or behavioural observation. Based on your budget available options are available on:

* galvanised steel, powder coated steel, or stainless steel framework,

* clear polystyrene, glass, or polycarbonate tanks.

Multiple tanks are used in our filtered recirculating systems as the larger water volume makes for a more stable environment. The single filter system makes for a cost effective way to support a large number of tanks with different age/genetic stocks.

In our current designs the waste water is treated in a generous sized sump tank that includes 100 to 200 micron strainers, large surface area rigid plastic media for biological filtration, followed by UV sterilisation before return to the fish tanks. To further aid water purification, a trickle tower is included to ensure more than adequate biological filtration is available. Other standard features to aid day-to-day operation include convenient taps to collect system water for e.g. setting up breeding pairs, and automated top-up with stored fresh water to compensate for daily water use and evaporation.

This photo shows 1.5, 9 and 12 litre tanks on two separate rack systems with the filtration and sterilisation units located below. Adequate space between shelves provides good access to all tanks. Both systems share a freshwater reservoir for automated top-up to compensate for day-to-day water use and evaporation.
