The 2 litre size is convenient - it's easy enough to make 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 litre batches as required. The harvesting valve feels sturdy and you also get a thermometer and air flow valve. It isn't perfect though. The main drawback is the ridiculously low stand which makes access to the harvesting valve very difficult. I have made a homemade stand as the hatchery itself is a good piece of kit, and in fact have bought a second one so I can rotate hatches. The other strange feature is the hole in the lid for a heater. I don't understand why a heater which fits this isn't included, or at least a plug for the hole.
